About the HOAD Guide
The Hume Alcohol and Other Drugs Guide was developed to address a number of issues identified by workers in the region. It aims to:
provide an introduction for new workers in health and welfare service sectors, to working with Alcohol and Drug issues in the Hume region;
heighten awareness of alcohol and drug issues in a rural setting;
create a quick and easy reference for professionals managing clients with substance use issues;
improve networking and enhance collaborative partnerships between service sectors;
facilitate integration of services through a coordinated prevention framework;
promote programs to compliment and reinforce each other.
Some existing "best practice" material has been sourced which provides standards for all service sectors. Every effort has been made to ensure material used from existing sources has been acknowledged and approved by the original authors.
All information presented in the guide is up to date at the time of original publishing, however, as information changes, there will be opportunities for accurate updates online.
